Fish Ladders in our Weirs

 

Fish Ladders have been installed at Torrumbarry and are also being implemented into weirs downstream to make it possible for native fish species to migrate upstream past any weir at any time. Fish are able to swim from pool to pool as part of their upstream travel. The fish-way program is an important step in the long term ecological recovery of the Murray River and is due to be completed in the year 2008.
